Meet the Founder
My name is Ashley Maldonado Contreras, and I am a first-generation Mexican American pre-law student at the University of California, Davis. I am passionate about public service, mentorship, and creating opportunities for students from underrepresented backgrounds. As someone navigating the path to law school myself, I understand both the excitement and uncertainty that can come with pursuing a legal career.
My interest in law stems from my own experiences and the desire to help others access the guidance and support that I often searched for myself. Through Her Path to Law, I hope to build a community where aspiring legal professionals can find encouragement, resources, and representation.
My Mission
Her Path to Law began as a project for an English course, but it quickly became something much more meaningful. My vision was to create a platform where undergraduate women, particularly first-generation students and women from underrepresented backgrounds, could access resources, mentorship, and real stories from women already working in the legal field.
Through personal experiences, interviews, educational resources, and professional spotlights, Her Path to Law aims to make legal careers feel more accessible, attainable, and empowering. My goal is to help women feel seen, supported, and confident as they navigate their own journeys toward law school and the legal profession.
